Welcome Letter  

Dear Parents,

It is a privilege to welcome you and your children to an active participation in the Sunrise Christian Academy for the 2006-2007 school year.

Our fundamental concern continues to be the healthy development of every child with whom we work. As the year progresses, it is our fervent desire and intention that the love we will share, along with the educational experiences we will offer in conjunction with your support and encouragement, will enable your child to continue to grow "in wisdom, in stature, and in favor with God and man."

We hope that you will help us to make the transition from home to school a happy one, for it is one of the most important transitions the child will make in lfe. We will make every effort to provide an atmosphere in which our students feel safe and secure and a little more grown up, but not too grown up!

The Sunrise Christian Academy provides opportunities for a variety of experiences through which your child:

Learns to give and take and to assume responsibility in a group

Learns to listen for directions and follow them

Grows in the ability to think for himself or herself, to communicate verbally, and to express one's self freely through music and art activities

Develops an aestheic appreciation

Grows in an understanding and appreciation of God's love with a willingness to respond to this love.

Your child will learn to respect his or her own worth as a child of God who is loved, respected, and appreciated by our school staff. A growing sense of self-respect makes it possible for the child ro respect others, their rights and their property.

Our program is planned to give your child newer and broader opportunities for learning that may be enriched and enlarged upon. It is in pre-school and elementary that the child strengthens the foundation upon which is built a storehouse of understandings, skills, and attitudes throughout the school experience.

Once again we welcome your child and we welcome you. We consider that you are "enrolled" along with your child, for you are as important to your child in our school as you are to your child in your hime.

We trust that this Handbook which has been prepared for you, will answer many of the questions you may have as the parents of a Pre-school, Kindergarten or Elementary child. After reading the information included , if you should have any questions, please feel free to call and set up an appointment to discuss your concerns.
