An Introduction to the Sunrise Christian Academy Since 1971, we have been offering quality preschool and kindergarten programs for the children of our community. Beginning in September, 2001, we added a first grade class. We look forward to adding a second grade in 2002 and a third grade in 2003. Our community is blessed with many excellent preschools, kindergartens and private elementary schools. We at Sunrise believe our program is particularly outstanding. What makes us different?Like many schools, we are interested in developing your child's social and academic life so he or she will be ready for first grade. But unlike many others, we are a Christian school blessed with a unique location and environment, offering a high ratio of teachers for each student. We are a Christian school... Our children hear Bible stories read during their day with us. There are times when the students will pray, such as at the beginning of the day and at meal time. Each week, one of the pastors of the Sunrise Church meets with the children in the Upper Room Chapel to read a Bible Story and to have a prayer with the children. We have a safe and child-friendly enviornment... Unlike many area schools located in shopping centers, ours is located on a church property. A large courtyard is safely enclosed by gates and buildings and serves as an unusually large playground area. The rooms are spacious and full of educational activities. Here children can feel safe and loved. We have a unique ratio of teachers and students... Most classes have not one, but two teachers. This gives our children a unique advantage they rarely have in other programs.We are located just outside the Miami Lakes community, along Miami Gardens Drive, across from the Golf Club of Miami at 18400 68th Avenue.
